Meet the Chefs visiting-chefs

This year’s Worcester Foodie Festival will feature a star studded line up with Multi Michelin award-winning chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and his great friend and fellow chef Felice Tocchini. Zwilling J A Henckels chef Paul Bough and ‘Love Food, Hate Waste’ chef Richard Fox will be once again returning to the event on both days for their popular demonstrations and hands-on workshops. Event admission, demos and master classes are free, so join in and learn from the pros! 

 

Jean-Christophe Novelli

Jean Christope NovelliMulti Michelin award-winning chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will be headlining the Worcester festival on Saturday 1st August 2015. The ‘nation’s favourite French chef’ will be running free cookery demonstrations on the main stage in the High Street.

His passion for passing on his wealth of culinary knowledge to others led him to open his own cookery school, The Novelli Academy based in his personal kitchen at his Hertfordshire farm, which was voted amongst the ‘Top 25 Cookery Schools in the World’.

Jean-Christophe is very enthusiastic about healthy cooking, so make sure to see him at the Worcester Foodie Festival to find out more about replacing salt and sugar with his own unique flavours and reduce the amount of saturated fats whilst creating delicious recipes with his assistant chef and great friend Felice Tocchini from Fusion Brasserie, Worcester.

Over his illustrious career Jean-Christophe has written numerous books, with his latest book “Simply Novelli” being applauded by food critics around the world. Come and get your book signed at the Worcester Foodie Festival on Saturday. Simply bring your own copy or buy one at the event from the Waterstone’s stand next to the stage and meet Jean-Christophe after the demos.

 

Felice Tocchini

Felice TocchiniWorcestershire based Fusion Brasserie chef Felice Tocchini will be taking the lead on the main stage on Sunday 2nd August 2015. Felice is passionate about using fresh, local produce to create delicious food with an Italian twist.

His creativity has resulted in him appearing on numerous TV programmes such as The One Show, Countryfile, and The Gadget Show, as well as in the media worldwide for his innovative creations such as Sprout Cake (a concept to encourage children to enjoy these much-maligned vegetables) and the Dunker – a biscuit designed to hold its own when dipped in tea… or champagne!

At present he is working at the acclaimed “Novelli Academy” one of the top 25 best cookery schools in the world alongside celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.

At the Worcester Foodie Festival Felice will be showing visitors how to make a variety of mouth-watering Mediterranean dishes, as well as his delicious summer pudding with basil and chocolate.

 

Paul Bough

Paul BoughIt’s the perfect time to refresh your knife skills at the Worcester Foodie Festival. In this workshop, Paul Bough, Zwilling J A Henckels, chef will show you how to chop, slice and dice seasonal fruits and vegetables like a pro. Paul will also teach you how to hone and sharpen your knife to keep it in tip top condition.

Contact Cookmate (Broad St) on 01905 27251 to pre-book or visit the master class area in Broad St on the day. 30 minute workshops run on the hour at 11am, 12noon and 1pm on Saturday 1st August and at 12noon, 1pm and 2pm on Sunday 2nd August.

You can also join Paul for his free cookery demos at the main stage to learn some handy tips and recipes for al fresco dining. These free sessions are kindly supported by specialist local kitchenware shop Cookmate.

 

 

Richard Fox

Richard FoxRichard Fox is a beer expert, renowned for cooking with beer as well as creating gourmet beer and food matches, but his other great passion is on the subject of reducing our food waste by performing cooking demonstrations on the theme of ‘Love Food, Hate Waste’.

Richard is an award-winning writer, cook book author and TV chef presenter. He was a regular chef on BBC 2’s Food Poker and has appeared on UKTV Food, Saturday Cooks on ITV, The Good Food Show on BBC Radio 4, to name but a few. His most recent book is entitled ‘How to be an Everyday Kitchen Magician: Fabulous Food for Almost Free’.

Make sure you view Richard’s exuberant and entertaining demonstrations at the Worcester Foodie Festival on Saturday and Sunday. They’re free to attend!
