Attractive City

This project area is about ensuring that the BID area is attractive to locals, businesses, clients, customers and visitors by delivering projects in addition to those provided by the Councils.

Christmas Lights

We will carry on offering free internal Christmas lights on loan for the frontages of BID businesses in areas without dedicated Christmas lights in the streets. In addition, we are continuing to install Christmas lights in the 8 Broad Street trees and lamppost columns in Foregate Street, The Foregate and The Cross. To request loan lights please contact us on info@worcesterbid.com.

Floral Installations

Summer floral planters have been installed and maintained by the BID across the city centre area for a number of years now.

In 2018 we have also worked in close partnership with St Richard’s Hospice for the ‘Worcester Stands Tall’ project, which has seen over 50 giant and small giraffes throughout the city centre, to complement these displays.

Reducing Gull Numbers

Partnership working with other agencies such as the City Council and Crowngate is continuing in order to help reduce the number of gulls in the city centre and the problems they cause.

We continue to offer free gull-proof sacks to all businesses. These can help prevent trade waste being strewn across the street. To request a gull proof sack, please contact us on info@worcesterbid.com or 01905 731612.

Trade Waste Improvements

Please contact the BID team for a project update.

Making the Most of Empty Spaces

We will work with the landlords of empty units and other partners to encourage more pop-up shop/offices, and dress their windows with a stylish vinyl finish to make the property and area more vibrant.
