Whether you’re looking to refresh your knife skills, learn how to best match food and drink, make pasta or get the kids involved in the kitchen, there area plenty of things to see and do at the Worcester Foodie Festival on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd August!

 

Knife Skills Classes with Paul Bough

Knife SkillsIt’s the perfect time to refresh your knife skills at the Worcester Foodie Festival. In this workshop, Paul Bough, Zwilling J A Henckels, chef will show you how to chop, slice and dice seasonal fruits and vegetables like a pro. Paul will also teach you how to hone and sharpen your knife to keep it in tip top condition.

Contact Cookmate (Broad St) on 01905 27251 to pre-book or visit the master class area in Broad St on the day. 30 minute workshops run on the hour at 11am, 12noon and 1pm on Saturday 1st August and at 12noon, 1pm and 2pm on Sunday 2nd August.

You can also join Paul for his free cookery demos at the main stage to learn some handy tips and recipes for al fresco dining. These free sessions are kindly supported by specialist local kitchenware shop Cookmate.

 

Food & Drink Tasting Sessions

Cheese SamplingFind out more about food and drink matching and join one of the free tasting sessions at CrownGate’s Bell Square (near House of Fraser) on Saturday and Sunday.

Tasting sessions will feature a variety of cheeses in combination with local beers and ciders, as well as wines available from local businesses and Foodie Festival stalls.

As part of the sessions our cheese experts Martin Mills & Roy McDonald will also be introducing you to ‘smorging’ – an indulgent grazing style of eating based on the Scandinavian smørgåsbord – so discover new exciting ways of eating your favourite cheeses.

Free tasting sessions last between 30 and 45 minutes. Participants must be 18 years or over. Spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis on the day.

 

Kids Cookery Workshops

Kids Cookery SchoolChildren of all ages have the opportunity to experiment and play while learning how to combine basic ingredients to create delicious bakes at the dedicated kids cookery area outside the Guildhall in High Street. 

Enjoy baking scones and rainbow biscuits or creating fun and exciting food experiments including jelly explosions, edible slime, bicarb rockets & fizzy mocktails. It’s free!

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free sessions last approx. 15 to 30 minutes each on Saturday & Sunday, depending on the number of participating kids (max. 20). Spaces for these free sessions are allocated on a first come first served basis on the day and cannot be pre-booked.
