Have Your Say on Trade Waste
Worcester City Council have asked us to help promote details of their trade waste consultation which finishes on Friday (25
th March). It is a consultation on a policy that limits the hours during which trade waste can be left out on the street in the city centre area. Full details are
here.
In addition, following a successful trial, we are offering any BID business a gull proof sack to put your trade waste into. These are free and are limited to one per business. A good example of their effectiveness is shown in this
video. If you are interested in receiving a sack, please email
info@worcesterbid.com or call 01905 731612.
Get involved in the 10th Worcester Motor Festival
On Saturday
14th May 2016 the 10
th Worcester Motor Festival will be taking place throughout the city centre. This popular event will showcase over 150 new and historic cars and motorbikes throughout the pedestrianised city centre. We will be announcing details shortly on new feature areas to keep the event interesting to our visitors. To further animate the event, family street entertainment will be taking place at selected locations, which will include live music, roving stiltwalkers and face painting.
The Worcester BID are keen to get as many businesses involved in the Worcester Motor Festival as possible, so that we can promote businesses accordingly. Here are some suggestions how you could get involved:
- Take part in our window dressing competition – the theme is anything motoring or a yellow and red colour scheme.
- On the event day, offer in-store motoring-themed activities and competitions.
- Apply for a free stall pitch to promote/sell your motoring themed products and services, e.g. car insurance or finance, MOT service, motoring themed memorabilia or clothing, etc. (subject to availability).
- Support the event by donating a competition prize (data capture for future promotions).
- Take advantage of special BID advertising rates in the dedicated Worcester News event supplement, sponsorship packages or event programme advertising.
If you are interested in getting involved in the Worcester Motor Festival, please complete and return the enclosed
registration form no later than
8th April 2016. If you have any other great ideas, please contact us on 01905 731612 or email
info@worcesterbid.com. We look forward to hearing from you with how you will be getting involved.
No Wobble because they have won Dobble…Again
We are thrilled to announce that Wise Owl Toys in Charles Street is the biggest seller of the game ‘Dobble’ of all the independent shops in the UK for 2015 for the third year running! Wise Owl Toys owner, Mark Stewart, was naturally delighted to beat all the competition once again. ‘We love the game, so demonstrating it in our store was something that came naturally to us. We thought Worcester would have been saturated by now but that’s certainly not the case. To be “The Tops” three years running is amazing.’
